AJ Hadswell Remains Confirmed

UPDATE: Human remains found positively identified as missing Norfolk woman

Human remains found Thursday during a search for a missing Norfolk woman have been positively identified as those of Anjelica "AJ" Hadsell, an official said.
Norfolk Police Department’s investigative efforts to find Hadsell were brought to the 34000 block of Smith’s Ferry Road in Southampton County, police spokeswoman Melinda Wray said in a news release.
Human remains were found at that location and were postively identified by the medical examiner, Wray said.

In a Friday update to the release, Norfolk Police Chief Michael Goldsmith and others in the police department expressed their sympathy to Hadsell's family and thanked the local, state and federal agencies that assisted them.

"The department's efforts are now focused on bringing closure to the Hadsell family, as the investigation into A.J.'s death continues," Wray said.
Hadsell was last seen at her parents' home in the Tarrallton Area of Norfolk early last month, according to police.
Her disappearance prompted multiple search efforts in Hampton Roads, as well as on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Investigators searched in the area of Route 258 and Joyner’s Bridge Road in Isle of Wight County late last week.
Police are not releasing any further details about the investigation, Wray said.
