Missing: Christine Morris

Man last seen with missing Texas woman:

"I'm not hiding anything"

Christina Morris
from CBS.  It would be helpful if CBS had given us his statements, rather than a single blurb.  There are more quotes from family, from a different news article that has been added here.

PLANO, Texas -- A man who was the last person seen with Fort Worth woman Christina Morris before she vanished two months ago tells CBS DFW he's not hiding anything and doesn't know where Morris is.
Christina Marie Morris, 23, was last seen Aug. 30 after spending a night out with friends at a popular Plano shopping and dining development. She was last seen walking into a parking garage at The Shops at Legacy at about 4 a.m. that Saturday morning, reported CBS DFW.
Friends and family reportedly didn't realize she was missing until she didn't show up for work Sept. 2 after the Labor Day weekend. Her silver Toyota Celica was found unmoved, still parked in the garage.
Surveillance video shows Morris and the friend, Enrique Arochi, walking together in a parking garage. Arochi reportedly told police that he last saw Morris as she was walking towards her car, and he was walking towards his. The two aren't seen separating on the video.
Arochi graduated from Allen High School with Morris. He says the two were acquaintances, and had mutual friends, reports the station.
Morris' mother has told the station she believes Arochi knows something about her daughter's disappearance. But in an interview with CBS DFW, Arochi said: "I had nothing to do with her disappearance," adding he does not know where Morris is.
Arochi says he has not spoken with Morris's mother, despite protests Morris's supporters have staged outside Arochi's parents' home in Allen, reports the station.
"Now they're protesting in front of my house, asking for answers which I don't have. Everything I've said, I've told police. Everything I know I've told police," said Arochi.

"Everything I've said, I've told police" is to reference what has previously said.  "Everything I know I've told police" is more direct.

The article fails to give us quotes, particularly about a denial.  This would have been helpful.

Plano police spokesman Officer Dave Tilley told 48 Hours' Crimesider that Arochi has been questioned and is not believed to be involved. However, Tilley said no one has been ruled out.
"At this point we're keeping our options open - we haven't cleared anyone from continuing to want to look at them as having more information or knowledge about her disappearance than they're providing," Tilley said.
Tilley said he has no suspects and nothing to indicate that a crime has been committed or that Morris isn't still alive, however it's concerning that Morris has been missing for so long. It's uncharacteristic of her to have been out of touch with friends and family for so long, he said.
"As each day passes, our level of concern that this potentially has been a criminal act increases," Tilley said.
Crews and volunteers have combed the area for any sign of the woman, and last month, the FAA approved the use of a drone in the search after an emergency authorization. Volunteers have also scoured the area on foot, horseback and in ATVs.
Police have also received more than 250 tips and have run each down, to no avail. They're hoping that keeping the case in the public eye will encourage others to come forward.
"We just want her home safely," her mother Jonni McElroy told the station. "Our life is not complete without her... and it won't be complete until we have her. We need her."

"Christina is a beautiful girl," McElroy said. "I am afraid she may have been sold for prostitution. I believe she is still alive -- I feel that. I know I would feel it if she wasn’t."
$25,000 reward is offered for information that leads to Morris' whereabouts.
"I beg anyone with information to think about it as if it is their daughter, mother or sister," McElroy said. "Have a conscious. Feel our pain. This is a nightmare we are living. It's not fair. We need her back -- she needs to be back with us. Someone out there knows something."
Morris is described as a white female, 5-foot-4 inches tall and approximately 100 pounds. She has blonde hair and brown eyes.
Christina Morris' family has created the "Help Find Christina Morris" Facebook page to share information about her disappearance and ongoing community searches.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in Morris' disappearance for information that leads to an arrest and an indictment, if a crime has been committed. Tipsters should call the Plano police at 972 941 2148 or, to be eligible for the reward, contact Crimestoppers at 877-373-8477.

I believe he spoke of her in the past tense a few days after her disappearance...

Buckley, if you find a link, let me know. I think the family is suspicious of him.

I'm confused because I thought Steven Mickerson was the last one to see her. He said this that concerned me:

Steven Nickerson was with Morris before she went missing and said she seemed a little upset that night, but he didn't know what was wrong. He said she insisted on driving back home to Fort Worth, but he never realized it would be the last time he saw her before she was reported missing.
"She was loved by everyone. She was the nicest person I've ever met, great personality," said Nickerson. "I don't see anyone that could lay a finger on her."

Yeah, sorry, I had assumed this Nickerson had dropped her off at car before she left for home. I didn't know about the other guy. Still that statement bothers me both for the past tense and for the :don't see anyone that could lay a finger" because it assumes she was abducted, as opposed to wreck or suicide or something, and the "insistence" on driving home seems like there was strain in their parting ways.

But nevermind, false alarm, unless she was with both guys together.

It's frustrating reading a news story where quotes are necessarily given in order.

in the previous one, Tania and I commented about this very thing.

Since that time, I learned that some of the quotes were recent, while some were 2 months old.

That's not good journalism.

Here, if this fellow spoke, why not let his words stand for themselves?

Yes, I'd like to know more about why the word "insisted" was used. It had to come from somewhere, but what exactly did he say? It either shows some tension between them or that he really wants us to believe she left for home or something.

I'm not finding anything that shows the two guys were both with her, but I remember seeing the video in the garage thinking the guy was the same friend above.

"but he never realized it would be the last time he saw her before she was reported missing." I can't quite verbalize why this bugs me, too, but it just seems to assume something final. With the "before she was reported missing" changes it but why even say something like this? If he didn't cause her disappearance, of course he would never realize it. But, yeah, exactly what did he say?

Without a Trace: Boyfriend Speaks Out About Missing Girlfriend

PLANO, TX — One missing person showed up in Plano Tuesday — Christina Morris’ boyfriend, Hunter Foster.

“I’ve known her since grade school,” he tearfully told our cameras.

Questions have been swirling all week — Why didn’t he report her missing? Why did she call him 15 times the morning before she disappeared?

“He does feel like an idiot for not contacting us and waiting four days,” Christina’s mother, Jonni McElroy said. “It was a typical boyfriend-girlfriend fight on the phone and he just really wish he would have contacted us. He said he has to live with that the rest of his life.”

“I just want her to come home and be alive and safe,” Foster said.

Beefing Up Search: Drones Get Greenlight to Help Find Missing Woman

Meanwhile, the search for the missing 23-year-old Fort Worth woman is expanding. A command center was set up at Legacy Church in Plano Tuesday.

Texas Equusearch has worked on high-profile cases like Natalee Hollway and Caylee Anthony. Now they’re bringing in their expertise and equipment to find Christina Morris.

ATVs joined the foot brigade of volunteers who have been out looking for Morris for the past 10 days. Drones will also be used in wooded and high grass areas where volunteers can’t go.

Christina Morris disappeared from the Shops of Legacy nearly two weeks ago. She was last seen on surveillance video walking into a parking garage with a friend around 3 a.m.

“I just want her to come home and be alive and safe,” Foster said.

Order is important, he wants her to come home followed by alive and safe.
If she comes home then by default she will be alive and safe.

Why not say he wants her to be alive and safe making this his priority and then have her come home?

Coming home is more important than her being alive and safe.

Does this mean he would be happy if her remains were found and brought home?

Why should her coming home be more important than her being alive and safe?

I think "safe" is leakage...sadly so.

also, with her gone 2 months now...hearing some reference her in past tense, particularly friends, is expected.

Since the original article blended quotes from the prior day, and 2 months ago, it makes it tough for us.

Everyone has an opinion on someone being truthful or not;

at least we state our opinion openly, and then give a reason why.

It is something respectful.

The article John and I are quoting- with past tense from Nickerson- is from a week after she was reported missing.

He and I discussed it here:

It is something respectful.

Agreed
